PROFESSIONAL BIO

Lorne is a charismatic project leader who is genuinely passionate about launching and expanding career opportunities for others by aligning professional growth programs with business objectives.

Currently a Career Coach at the Flatiron School (Education-Technology Leader Launching Careers in Computer Programming and Data Science), Lorne helps recent Bootcamp graduates craft personal branding and job-hunting strategies, monitor their mental health, and conduct mock cultural interviews to secure job placement in three-six months.

Lorne’s first venture into talent management was as the Program Director and Head of Recruitment for the Manhattan Sports Business Academy (MSBA) - a premier and unprecedented platform of learning, goodwill, and mentorship for sports business professionals from interns to CEOs. While bootstrapping the company for six years, Lorne oversaw the strategic planning and overall management of MSBA’s annual program and acted as a career coach, talent recruiter, and mentor to over 150 young professionals. Reporting directly to company ownership, Lorne’s primary responsibilities included spearheading and executing MSBA recruitment efforts, Internship Placement services, Mentorship curriculum, and Speaker Series & Professional Development programming. Lorne’s career trajectory and successes in elevating the MSBA brand can be attributed to his experience as a member of MSBA’s 2012 inaugural class.

Lorne is also a proven project leader in additional disciplines such as events and partnerships. Most recently at the award-winning cultural agency 160over90, Lorne was responsible for the planning and execution of internal communications and corporate social responsibility initiatives on behalf of renowned brands like Marriott International, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Dow Jones, and more. Lorne has already had meaningful work experiences with disruptive and innovative companies in the sports marketing industry in his young career, including Lagardère Unlimited (now Lagardère Sports & Entertainment), SDI Marketing Sprint Management.

Lorne graduated with distinction from the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, with a Major in Marketing and a Minor in Accounting. While in school, he was involved as the Co-Chair for the 15th and 16th annual JMSM Sports Marketing Conference, Canada’s largest student-run sports business conference – for which he remains an advisor. He was also a Co-Founder of the Concordia SWARM, a campus club dedicated to creating and fostering school spirit around varsity athletics.

Lorne received his official designation as an SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) in February 2021.
